Welcome to the Blog

Like death and taxes, change is a certainty. The bottom line is that the over the last decade, marketing dollars have shifted from traditional channels like television and print to digital channels like SEM and display in dramatic quantities; and if consumer buying preferences are any indication of the future ("It's cheaper on the internet!"), this shift will definitely continue.

Staying Competitive

Businesses that want to stay competitive need to maintain an aggressive position in all of the marketing channels in their vertical. But as these channels get more saturated, just doing them won't be enough--it's all about doing them well.

My plan for this blog is to focus on the changes that will have the biggest impact on the lives of the day-to-day digital marketers (like myself). If there is something I'm learning about for the first time, you'll learn about it right alongside with me. If there's something that needs revisiting, I'll tackle that in the context of the most recent marketing landscape.

Investment in paid search, display advertising, social media advertising, online video advertising and email marketing will pace to 46% of all advertising in five years.
